We are an aerospace hardware distributor based in Long Beach, CA. It is the primary responsibility of the Commodity Buyer to find the best approved source to meet the customer’s requirements, negotiate favorable pricing, and issue a purchase order that accurately reflects the customer’s requirements.

What You Will Be Doing

• Demonstrates excellent communication, business acumen, and judgment in interfacing with management to understand purchase requirements; interfacing with suppliers to communicate purchase requirements; supporting the negotiation of more complex unique purchase terms and conditions.
• Works to manage late vendor orders, items needed to be ordered, VMI inventory accounts, and kitting inventory.
• Processes unique purchasing transactions in accordance with DAR/FAR and AS-9100, and policies established by company.
• Identifies and selects vendors to procure commodities meeting criteria of price, quality, quantity, availability, and delivery dates and places orders.
• Utilizes ERP system to identify stock replenishment, place purchase orders and follow up on delivery.
• Negotiates contracts and bid proposals meeting company delegated signature authority policy.
• Interprets and communicates purchasing procedures and policies to departments, vendors, and staff.

What You Need for this Position

• 3 years’ experience in aerospace purchasing and/or sales.
• Detailed knowledge of aerospace fastener business.
• Knowledge of hardware in Commercial and Military Aerospace markets.
• Preferred experience with ERP/MRP System.
• Creative thinker, problem solver, analytical.
